History

Established in South Korea in 1976, today HYUNDAI Corporation is an international holding including producing, mining, researching and distributing facilities all over the world. 

Among major activities of HYUNDAI Corporation are heavy machinery, shipbuilding, steal and chemical industries, mining operations, consumer electronics.

Being a structural branch of the South-Korean holding, the HYUNDAI Electronics company first entered Russia’s market in April 2004.

That move was caused by HYUNDAI’s great interest in Russia’s promising consumer electronics market characterized with high growth and very fast development. Within 5 years of its operations in Russia, the company has sorted out and formed product lines in the following categories:

  • Home Audio & Video
  • Car Audio, Video, Multimedia & Security Systems
  • Household appliances

Being a newcomer to the market, HYUNDAI Electronics focused on promoting its product, using solid reputation of HYUNDAI automobiles in Russia. That plan as well as wise and creative development strategies and marketing campaigns resulted into effective and successful positioning of the brand and a good start. In 2005 HYUNDAI Electronics was given a prestigious Brand of the Year/EFFIE 2005 award in the New product nomination, which was a result of the company’s aggressive marketing policy. 

According to Business Week’s annual report, in 2006 HYUNDAI became one of the most successful and expensive brands of the world.
 
Today distribution network of HYUNDAI Electronics covers all the territory of the Russian Federation, including Ural and the Far East, as well as most CIS countries. The network numbers more than 200 dealers in Russia and CIS. Stable demand for consumer electronics in Russia and CIS makes these markets HYUNDAI’s most promising and prospective ones in the world.
